I’m going to be so honest, love Ryan Gosling, but this book was one of my only DNFs. The characters, especially the main one, were incredibly one dimensional and just annoying most of the time. It read as if he was writing another generic sci-fi movie, as if he knew that it would perform better as a movie adaptation than a book.
I won’t be watching this movie because of it, but I hope people enjoy it.

I still think the reveal of Rocky is one of the worst decisions in trailer history.
They didn’t need it to sell the movie. It’s a book by the guy who did the Martian, and Ryan Gosling is the lead for a sci fi adventure.
