      This is objectively insane that they would have to put a plea out there because they can’t discern whether or not the ransom is legitimate. My heart breaks for these siblings.

      What a nightmare. I can imagine they’re not only feeling tremendous sadness and fear, but anger too. I’d be seeing red at the thought of someone harming my mom and holding her hostage. I hope against all odds that she returns home safely

      Not knowing what happened to your loved one after a crime had occurred is truly one of the most terrifying things. Hope they find Nancy asap safe and sound.

      This whole situation is so devastating but also so confusing. The rumor about the BIL being a suspect, law enforcement denying it, the FBI was at her sister’s house and now this? Nothing about this makes sense. I hope they can find some answers soon 💔

      I can’t help but think that you get to be 84, believing you’ve reached an age where you’re beyond harm like this, and then this happens. It’s so horrible. I feel so much for her family

      Savannah looks utterly broken. As someone with an aging mother who lives on her own, this case has been keeping me up nights and I can’t stop thinking about it. I realize that the national coverage on this has overshadowed other bigger stories (ICE, Epstein files) but honestly it is starting to get harder to weigh the badness of these things on a scale. Everything is just so rotten and awful. I keep thinking to myself: I don’t want to live in a world where things like this happen. The evil is too much to bear tbqh.

      It’s deeply sad and greatly apparent to me that their statements are likely encouraged by investigators to be worded in a humanize Nancy to her captors. Including a lot of personal details about who she is as a person. It makes me feel very worried about what they think has happened to her.

      I’m sure Savannah has talked to a camera millions of times, but this has to be one of the hardest, if not *the* hardest, things she’s ever done. This is such a confusing, scary, and heartbreaking situation for the entire Guthrie family. My heart goes out to them.

      I really hope they have a strong support system around them. This situation is so incredibly horrifying and the amount of unanswered questions must be crushing them. All they want is to get their mom back and they’re willing to do anything it takes, I truly really wish they get the best resolution possible to this nightmare.

      This is awful. Of all the insane shit going on right now; a famous morning show host’s elderly mother has been kidnapped and the situation is so dire and hopeless the family is family is making public pleas to the alleged kidnapper? Horrific and crazy

      My siblings and I are the same ages as Savannah and hers. Thinking about our own almost 80 year old frail innocent mother being terrorized in her home and forcibly removed made me feel a strange, almost feral rage. I am completely INCENSED that someone would do this. Holding out hope for the best outcome.

      I honestly don’t even know what to think at this point. It’s so crazy that there doesn’t appear to be a single credible lead as to who could’ve done this. I can’t even imagine the pain and uncertainty they feel, it’s torture at this point for them. I hope they can find peace at the end of this.

      This almost certainly isn’t going to have a happy ending, I just pray they can find out WHAT happened. The helplessness and not knowing must be agonising. Absolutely horrendous. I can’t imagine.

      Same thing happened to Cal Ripken’s mom years ago, but she was returned in 24 hours. The fact this lady can’t get her medications doesn’t bode well for her. What a sick individual that has done this.

      There has to be camera footage, right? You can’t just pull someone out of a house anymore without camera catching a vehicle or some such. Heck there are prolly cameras in the house as she’s 84 and living alone.

      I know of Samantha Guthrie of course I’m not entirely familiar with her (not from the US). Is she or her family is mega rich? Like is she an heiress or something? It seems so random to be targeting her mom, no?

      I hope she is found safe. It must be horrible for her family.

      I don’t think I can take this not having a happy ending. I can’t even imagine what they are going through. This has made me so stressed and sad.
