Looks like shit and is morally reprehensible, but probably my favourite franchise so I feel vaguely obligated to see it (buying a ticket to another movie and sneaking into this one to ensure they get zero money out of me).

I’m ready to be pleasantly surprised by this. For a horror franchise to have such a high bar over 30 years is a rarity.

“Face your past” is all they got? lol

This poor woman has had to “face her past” 4 or 5 times now, it’s comical

My prediction is Martha Meeks has finally decided to take matters into her own hands.

I like it, – has a cool reference to Wes Craven’s Scream with a hint of Scream 2 ambiance..

Finally time to bring back Drew Barrymore in a Fast and Furious style revival.

Face their past?! They’re still living in it!

The only way this movie is going to make sense is if they have Ghostface actually win this time. Besides, what are the odds that there could be this many Ghostface offenders who somehow always know Sidney and then turns into an outright psychopathic murderer? They should study her biological makeup and see if she spreads a virus that causes murder tendencies. That would somehow make more sense.

I am curious about the Scream franchise as a whole, as the first movie is my all time favourite horror and Sidney is an iconic final girl
But i wonder like how they move on, not because i am sick of Sidney, very much the opposite, i’d love Neve to be the star every movie, but for the character i always want her to finally get her happy ending
Perhaps maybe they could do it with and i know they went the cousin route with Jill, but have it be a normal cousin/niece/nephew of Sidney who is targeted by Ghostface, meaning Sidney’s story is finished but we can still have cameo’s of her
Either way i’ll be watching, curious to see where this one goes and no way they kill off Sidney

I was one of the few that didn’t like scream 6 that much. The NYC setting was weird and no spoilers but hated the reveal of who the killer was and their connection to the group.
Scream 5 was great though. Very nervous about this. They basically fired everyone, dropped narrative building from last two movies and are bringing back Sydney in a panic button move

They shouldn’t have gone back. They did a succesful reboot/requel with a great young cast. Then they fucked it up by firing Melissa Barrera and it all fell apart. I’m not watching this.

Hollywood clinging to the known IP’s like a deflating life raft.

Can’t wait for Scream 12 when Sidney is living at an old people’s home and she still has to, uh, “face her past” because A) someone decided to be a Ghostface copycat or B) some long lost family member (hers or a previous Ghostface’s) has decided to kill her for very nebulous reasons.
I’ll be honest, even though some of the sequels were fun and entertaining on an individual level, I don’t think this is a franchise that warranted 6 more entries.
