Idk, I still think the overall message is sweet.
I’m not really religious (whenever I see my dad, I *might* go to mass with him because it’s so important to him), but this is def something my old school Catholic parents say.
Like, they despise Trump and the Christian right, believe in equal rights for everyone, etc., and vote for Dems, but they are sincere when they say stuff like how God is the ultimate judge, how Trump and everyone in his admin will go to hell, etc.
It used to annoy me when I was younger, but now, I think it’s sweet because I know it’s sincere and that our values are ultimately aligned with (what I think) are important matters. It doesn’t make any of the horror that we’re seeing any less real or terrifying at all, but I get the overall message quite clearly
