The parks are often INCREDIBLE at telling and reimagining beloved stories – this makes a lot of sense.

Wasn’t that Bob Chapek’s job before CEO?

It’s Greg from succession.

Wasn’t the whole issue with Chapek was that he had 0 Hollywood connections or experience because he worked at the Parks? So they’re getting the guy with the exact same job as Chapek to be the new CEO?

Let’s hope he’s good and visionary like Walt and NOT Iger/Chapek 2.0

Parks Chief D’Amaro is certainly a unique name.

On another news…Another Evil corporation is about to choose another narcissistic psychopath as their CEO.

I’m not happy with the state of the Parks and Resorts right now. I don’t love the direction that he and his predecessor took the division, I put a lot of the blame for what’s wrong with the Parks at his feet.
However, I’m willing to give him a shot. You gotta give everyone at least a couple years. Hopefully he recognizes the company needs change and to be revitalized.
I’m not super optimistic about the guy. I would prefer Dana Walden who is an actual creative executive. But I’m rooting for him to succeed and turn the company around, to have it making great films, shows, and attractions across the board again.

His smile looks eerily similar to that of Parks Chief Tom Wambsgans

Park prices are too high. Instant failure of a potentially new CEO

When you run the parks, you work with every sub-studio: Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century. In theory, that should be excellent preparation for becoming Disney CEO.
On the other hand, you don’t oversee the actual making of films and TV, which is what generates the IP that fuels the parks.
D’Amaro does seem like a much better fit that Chapek, though. At least he’s supposedly a people person with a passion for the Disney brand/legacy. Not a bean-counter like Chapek was.

Oh cool the same business that birthed Bob chapek.

so you’re saying Bob Iger is going to be CEO again in about 3 1/2 years?

Just get Kathleen Kennedy to do it. She can do no wrong!
