Matthew Lillard Reacts To ‘Scooby-Doo’ Live-Action Netflix Origin Series: “I think that having it back is good. My hope is that they hold onto what’s tried and true and take their hack at it. But the reality is that I’m sort of a purist when it comes to that franchise.”

He’s a purist for a franchise that has had crossovers WWE?
I know this will likely end up being like Riverdale in terms of quality but I hope that means they’re just going to embrace the wacky shit from day one. If they try and ground it with a dog that can’t talk then there’s no point, not when the movies already showed a live-action Scooby can work.
Cast actors that look like the characters. Make the dog talk. Embrace how wacky the franchise can be instead of being afraid of it. Maybe throw in a cameo or two for the live-action actors for good measure (Lillard could easily play Shaggy’s uncle or something). It could be a fun project.
Dude’s one of our foremost Scooby-Doo scholars.
I’m old enough to have watched the OG Scooby-Doo live action movie in the theaters.
“Okay Scoob lets go over it again. We’re like, gonna go into the kitchen and make a sandwich right? Imagine this stone is a bun and this leaf is a slice of cheeeese…”
