Her influence is still rippling out. The Brat tribute still makes me tear up. RIP SOPHIE

i’m bowled over everytime i remember how SOPHIE left us and how tragic but not nonsensical it was, if that’s okay to say. she was a lover of beauty and simultaneously inspired so much beauty in others and lots of pop music today would sound very different without her influence. so tough that she isn’t around to see it. she was so ahead of us all and still is.

Can’t believe it was 5 years. What a loss.

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years already. It just felt and continues to feel so deeply wrong that she’s gone. Especially with her being such an innovator… it felt like she was the future in so many ways, lightyears ahead of the rest of us, so for her journey on earth to just be.. over? Doesn’t compute.

I have my favorite song of hers tattooed on me “its okay to cry”, such a monumental loss.

Since her death I get teary eyed every time I listen to “It’s Okay To Cry”🥺

She slipped and fell off a roof while trying to see the full moon. When I first heard that it made me feel so depressed, the tragedy of dying while trying to see something beautiful. I am glad to see people continue to remember and honor her legacy. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say her influence changed pop music.
“Accidentally died” is kind of wild phrasing and it did make me giggle I’m sorry.

This one *hurt*. Her music was chaotic, otherworldly, and so freakin alive. I grew up loving electronica but I always wanted more from it, SOPHIE somehow knew exactly what that was. She was so ahead of her time, I think of her every time I see the moon.

So inspiring. The influence she had and continues to have on music production will be forever. I will forever miss what we could have had with her life cut short. I work with a lot of transfemme musicians and the impact she’s had on the community always makes me feel emotional. She’d be so proud.
