  1. Yeah that’s…cold. Don’t really know what to say about it, it was HUGE news for Albertans, we all hotly debated what should become of the truck driver, and we all took notice when the anniversaries passed by. To see it turned into an entertainment program feels, well, bad.

  2. Was Ryan Murphy behind this by any chance? I mean, it sensationalizes a tragedy and pisses all over the memories of the victims. Seems like his ‘*oeuvre’,* as the rich white Hollywooders say.

  3. That’s a real bad look Netflix, like this was a massive event that occurred here and it’s still raw for a lot of people. It was a tragedy, why in the actual fuck would you make a show about it?

  4. I really doubt Shawn Levy, a Canadian filmmaker, was unaware of the similarities. It seems like they’re trying to turn the Humboldt Broncos into a We Are Marshall ripoff.

  5. I’d love a documentary following the team in the years following the crash but a dramatic series is in very poor taste

  6. I totally empathise with the reactions of the family members, anything that has even any similarities to their situation would be triggering.

I think from a more objective position though, there’s really not enough information to know how similar the things are. They could very well be, but there aren’t any close details available yet.
