  1. This and David Fincher being rude are really what I remember. I feel like Amy Pascal’s email saying she heard about Leo’s “despicable” behavior and her blunt assessment of a Cameron Crowe film she regretted greenlighting were the juiciest things? But idk if anyone really dug through most of it; I’m sure the vast majority was banal industry stuff.

ETA: Also I think ultimately I disagree with the media reporting on the hack. Wasn’t it North Korean hackers punishing Sony for that Seth Rogen movie making fun of their government? I think this should have just been left on the dark web.

  2. I might be misremembering …but wasn’t there an email exchange where Andrew Garfield did not turn up for an announcement with some Sony execs during the 2014 FIFA World Cup?

They were supposed to announce the Amazing Spiderman 3 or something and Andrew just didn’t want or meet the Sony people lol

  3. Charlie Sheen’s HIV status, email about how Michael Fassbender – while a great actor – is not a star and “Shame” makes men feel bad about having normal genitalia; George Clooney worried over “Monuments Men” and begging Amazing Amy Pascal to shield him from bad publicity, meanwhile in the press he was denying anything was wrong and saying activist investor / chronic open letter writer Dan Loeb didn’t know what he was talking about when Loeb worried about the state of Sony’s film output.

  4. not really juicy but the spidey thought email from nick shore kills me to this day. pitching that spiderman be an edm-loving snapchatter is hysterical

Not exactly juicy, but I remember Joel McHale came across incredibly nice/normal when there was an email he sent asking about employee discounts relative to purchasing a new TV I believe? It was kind of adorable 😆

Unpopular and unethical opinion but, please have more email leaks like this across Forbes top 500 companies. Release all the juicy drama and secrets! (Edit: clarity)

I remember a lot of wild and chaotic things that came out during the Sony hack. If i’m not mistaken:

    * Controversy over *The Interview* and threats against theater. Sony initially canceled the film’s release, raising free-speech concerns. Even Obama condemned that decision
    * Embarrassing and offensive comments about actors and public figures exposed (one about Obama)
    * Gender pay gap within Sony highlighted (American Hustle female cast pay less than male)
    * The whole Spider-Man right fiasco. Internal chaos surrounding the *Amazing Spider-Man* franchise, Sony at that time wanted their own cinematic universe (Kevin Feige notes about The Amazing Spider Man 2). Because of this, Sony gave their right to Marvel.
    * Creative disputes between Sony and filmmakers (David Fincher) exposed
    * Lots of films were leaks

I think the funniest outcome out of this whole incident is actually that Tomdaya exists because Seth Rogen and James Franco decided to make a dumb comedy movie about Kim Jong Un

  9. Didn’t Amy Pascal’s Amazon order history get leaked? A pubic hair dye kit, maybe a vibrator?

Def remember Rooney Mara reiterating her excitement & availability for a *Girl with the Dragon Tattoo* sequel.

  10. Simon Cowell going behind Howard Stern’s back, weaseling his way into the judge chair on America’s Got Talent because he would be cheaper and less demanding than Howard, who was actually good in the role and freshened up the show for a few years.

Howard said fuck it and bailed. Simon got the spot.

  11. This email is literally the only thing I remember from that leak. And a comment that said “Channing Tatum writes emails exactly how you thought he would.”

  12. Oh man this took me back!

From what I remember, nothing overly big or juicy came out of this correct? Wasn’t a lot of “surface level” stuff.
