  1. The requirements:

    > Candidates for the Legacy Award — which may only be bestowed on a program once — must have (a) accumulated a minimum of 60 episodes across a minimum of five seasons and (b) demonstrated continued or sustained relevance, influence or inspiration to a genre of television, an existing or new audience or society and culture. Franchise properties must be considered as a whole and awarded as such.

The episode and season count are quite high imo.

Shows like *Twin Peaks*, *Oz*, *Deadwood*, etc. wouldn’t be eligible then, but they absolutely deserve to be considered.

But at least *The Wire* (which barely got in with 60 episodes and 5 seasons) will finally get its due.

  2. So a consolation prize for good shows that otherwise failed to beat out competition in other categories.

If it leads to more shows going beyond 3 season/24 episodes I won’t be angry about it.

  3. With that season/episode count (5 & 60), The Good Place doesn’t qualify (4 & 53 episodes)
