>Gellar said the series will answer the questions of where Buffy “is now in this world and what is this world that Buffy lives in with her and without her,” adding, “So it’s not a reboot, it’s not picking up with all of the same characters right away. It is not like a sequel… That’s why the name was even important to me — Buffy: New Sunnydale. It’s Buffy, but it’s also something else.”

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see how that differs from a sequel…

Yeah, it will be nothing more than a money grabbing pile of crap.

A continuation is a sequel. Why are we making up new terms?

Say what you will about joss whedon, I get he was a pos, but he had a way of trapping lightning in a bottle… I’m guessing they are just now realizing how hard that is to replicate.

Well, it’s one or the fucking other.

Sunnydale was a sink hole at the end of the series. Why would anyone live there?

JW is a POS but unless he’s involved, it’s all just fan fic…like those shitty books that were written back in the day when the show aired.
Their saving grace would be to hire the old writers to be the head writers. Maybe even showrunner. Marti Noxon was a controversial showrunner because of s6 but at least she worked on all 7 seasons. Get Jane Espenson in there too!!

Continuation of Buffy…or from Angel?
The two series seemed to be mutually related but one leaves off at different points where the other has Buffy in Europe while many many more slayers roam country and slay🤷🏽
Guess we will find out when it comes out🧐

Sounds like a textbook soft reboot. Bring in new people, old characters show up. Not quite a sequel in terms of “This is the same people later on” and not quite a full reboot fully remaking it. Why is she pretending it’s some new category? These already exist.

I’ve watched the interview, she said it’s a continuation, so technically a sequel. However, she clarified it’s because they’re not picking up where the last show left off with all of the same characters. It’s a new story set in Sunnydale with Buffy and new supporting characters.
So it caters to the fans of the original but appeals to new viewers who haven’t seen the original.
