Early on, we see Michelle singing along to Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” Throughout that song and most notably at the end, the phrase “You’d have to stop the world just to stop the feeling” is repeated over and over.
At the end of the film, Michelle literally does stop the world (humanity’s part at least) in order to stop the feeling of misery and despair that humans feel and she also feels for not being able to help us.
