In this scene Landa is famously eating the apple strudel and as you can see in this scene, it's a flaky crust. I was so intrigued that I flew to Germany in 2022 to eat at Café Einstein Stammhaus (sadly now permanently closed) where this scene was filmed and they are known for having a delicious apple strudel. What was surprising was that the apple strudel had a soft exterior so the strudel in this scene wasn't the same. I was disappointed but then understood because this scene is supposed to be in France in the movie where crusts are flaky Quentin must have thought of this and used a stand-in pastry. I believe he was giving homage to the German restaurant at the same time as being accurate to the fictional film location. Thought that was worth sharing. Image two is the apple strudel from the real restaurant and I was lucky to be able to sit in the same room as the film scene.

To be fair, I bet that 98% of all food in a restaurant scene was not made at that restaurant
I’ve always been curious about why Landa ordered a glass of milk for Shoshanna. Did he know? Was it a coincidence? Her brief, surprised expression was a fascinating detail.
