The year has been a whirlwind for girlgroup Katseye. From their second EP reaching the top five in the US to their globally viral GAP ad.
What direction do you see the group going from here? What predictions do you have?
They’ll perform at coachella in 2026 so I can only imagine they’ll become more popular and well known
2WO-RIP on
Just like most groups, I imagine one or two of them will become a break out star and become a solo artist. I put my money on Daniella. Do most of you know that Beyoncé started out with a group called Destiny’s Child?

can someone recommend bangers from them? i’m not that much into girl groups but they seem chill.
amateurish_gamedev on
They’re talented and they all have good personality. So I’m predicting, as long as they picking up good songs, they’re gonna get even more popular.

Unrelated but they are giving Winx Club in this picture

They have the potential to be bigger than what geffen did with the pussycat dolls. They have the music and production capabilities at their disposal and they dont seem to be heading down the nicole scherzinger and the dolls vibe. Them being not run by robin antin already helps because robin always tried to be involved so much and saw her self as the seventh secret doll. As for hybe and kpop’s involvement, they easily have other markets open to them in asia and elsewhere and the image/polishness they want for katseye will help mold them further.
If you watched the dream academy documentary, you can see the level of talent the girls had in the program almost signifying a new generation of talent and an intro to tomorrow’s big stars. Im not surprised hybe x geffen kept some of the girls to debut into a second sister group of KATSEYE for later down the line. The birth of a new hybrid group marketed both for asia and western has started similar to the british invasion and katseye gets to be at the front of it

i think they’ll keep up the momentum but i still maintain they’re too caught between kpop and western music to fully reach their potential, at least for now – we need more than mini albums from them
it’ll be interesting to see what happens when gg 2.0 forms and is put out into the world with dream academy favorites who didn’t make it into katseye but will now be in this new group, though no doubt they’ll support each other but i wonder if they’ll be strong competition
either way i like katseye, the girls are fantastic, and i’ll be supporting! i hope for the best but hybe/geffen need to start committing to a lane for them

I think all they need is a breakout song, they don’t have a strong musical identity as of now which they need to build with a solid album. After this they can go to the next level. Also nowadays branding is everything. A person can give hits after hits but if they don’t have a strong identity people will forget about it. So they need songs that will build and go along with their branding.

They will continue to rise and have huge mainstream global success in western pop. They’ll be bigger then Pussycat Dolls, and rival the success of Backstreet Boys and NSync (not Spice Girla level thougg)
Lara will be the first to leave, in around 3-4 years. She’ll want to do music with her sister.
Eventually, Danielle will be the most successful solo artist. Especially because she can corner both English and Latin market.
Sophia will have solo dominance in SE Asia.
Manon won’t pursue music. She’ll be a fashion girl, maybe try her hand at acting.
Meghan and Yoonchae are fantastic but don’t have solo artist energy (I say this even though Meg is one of my favs).

I can see them becoming at least as big as Fifth Harmony/Little Mix/PCD at their peak.

I think there’s a lot of pressure on them to succeed especially with their recent success. They seem to be super humble with their current success. I hope that they don’t lose themselves in the fame

They’ll have one or two hits before they disband and we get a Netflix documentary about how abusive dream academy was

I really like them and am hoping for their success, but I think their managers need to figure out what they’re doing with them and stick with a cohesive image/vibe. I thought their appearance at the MTV awards was a mess from a styling and group image standpoint, and that could have been a great opportunity for them to step out and get a ton of buzz following the Netflix doc and GAP ad.
There’s also the fact that I know zero of their songs and I think that’s true of many casual supporters. Haven’t heard a single song by them on the radio or in content I’ve seen of them in.

idk, let them cook. I feel like they’re filling quite the void in the teenagers nowadays and I hope their management doesn’t massively fuck up

I think they actually have a chance at getting a hit here. That Gabriella song is cute, and people loved the GAP commercial.

they are very talented and i just love the group’s interactions with one another and their individual personalities. all of them are charismatic and very likable, and they struck gold on the timing of their gap ad. i came out of dream academy and a few interviews sad about how they were treated and rooting for them.
i think letting the girls get a little more hands on with the lyrics/production process (lara and i’m not sure who else produce for sure) will help them in a western market for as long as being a singer-songwriter with more potent connections to their songs is popular. hearing they were the only artists who wanted to keep the lines supportive of the “t-girls and all the inbetween girls” in mean girls was really heartening in regards to song selection, at least.

I think people can be overly pessimistic about KATSEYE’s future, likely because of how things have gone with some Western girl groups. Personally, I believe that, aside from Jesy, the Little Mix girls genuinely cared about each other, and I see a similar bond forming here.
A lot of people are making assumptions about the members, that some of them might not be seriously interested in music. But they’re only a year into it, and they haven’t even had the chance to fully show what they can do yet. From what we’ve seen, they all clearly have a passion for the arts, whether it’s singing, theater, songwriting, producing, or performing in general.
Unless something major and unfortunate happens, like what we saw with FIFTY FIFTY and NewJeans (which traumatized me, lol), where they essentially sabotaged their own careers to follow toxic creative directors, I think KATSEYE is in a solid position right now. Since their focus is clearly on building the group, and based on their current trajectory, I could see them going fully mainstream by late 2026 or 2027.
I think their inspiration of the K-pop system could actually work in their favor. It allows the members to pursue solo careers alongside group activities later on, which could be a great way to start branching out more. Releasing group music once every year or two would still keep the brand alive while giving them space to explore solo work.

They can only go up or down.
They have the same odds of any group in this industry – if their label markets them and brings them good producers and songwriters, they will be fine.
If the label wants to tank them, they will.

If they ever are to go solo… Contrary to the popular opinion, I feel like Manon will be more of an influencer than a singer while Lara will make it the biggest 😌🤔

Fizzle out and do nothing. Their label is trying, though.

They’ll get bigger and be successful, but definitely see Lara, Dani, and Manon doing solo stuff in the future, even if they remain a group. I think if they split as a whole, Yoonchae is going to be HUGE in Korea. She’s already got so much talent and she’s only 17.

That GAP ad will be the peak of their careers.

I think they’ll do well for a few years until one of them leaves and starts a solo career.
