But actually, as we find out in The Bonnie Situation, there are four, and the difference almost gets them killed. !<

Nice catch. It’s funny because Vincent is really unaffected by the ‘divine intervention’ that occurs during the near death.
I always felt like this scene was setting up how Jules is the ice cold one, and Vincent only plays the ice cold one.
Jules is cool on the job and off. Vincent only plays cool when he’s on the job.
Vincent and Jules also never checked the other rooms, or they would have found that guy. Its established early on that they were never very good at their jobs.
