Absolutely mental take. Never touch the original trilogy, I don’t care for its small faults there and there, that stuff is iconic for a reason.

**Remake** *A New Hope*?
I love *Andor* and I’ve seen plenty of terrible ideas on the internet through the years and this is one of them.

I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, but I loved Andor, so I say sure, go for it

I would be more apt to get a Tony Gilroy specific Rogue One.

Remake the sequels. Pretend they never happened.

I would be happy with a TV Series retelling of the ordinary trilogy.

Or, ya know, do something new? Which is what Tony Gilroy has excelled at so far?

I’m confused. Why remake a new hope?

I think Andor is one of the best pieces of media Disney has put out since acquiring the rights. Something serious, almost prestige, like this was so refreshing and the perfect way to portray this specific story.
With that said, this would take away everything that made Star Wars, Star Wars. It’s supposed to be pulpy and fun. The prequels are operatic, the early animated shows are serialized, etc. Andor is a refreshing take, but to make everything Andor would take away what’s special about Andor.
Also, wrong sub.

“This will be blasphemy to many, but with A New Hope approaching its 50th anniversary in 2027, it may finally be time for a remake. After all, while George Lucas’ 1977 original will always be a cinematic classic, it’s looking increasingly creaky to younger viewers, so a fresh perspective and retelling of this incredible story would be an ideal way to reinvigorate the franchise.” Fuck you, David James, and it is blasphemy. You have two first names, anyway.

Apparently, the Emperor has returned.
