Molière is known as the Father of French Drama, and thus by naming his operation after him, Guy figuratively describes his anti-Vietnamese communist action as that of French theatre prevailing over Vietnamese theatre. It’d be like the British codenaming their operation against Indian nationalists “Operation Shakespeare” or the Spanish against Filipino nationalists “Operación Lope de Vega.”
