Howard Hawks directing Gary Cooper on the revolving mountain set of Sergeant York, 1941. The mountain was built on a Warner’s soundstage and included 121 real trees, 2 tons of boulders, and a 200 foot winding stream. The set was 35 feet in diameter at the base, 40 feet tall, and weighed 60 tons.
