Who thinks this is unique or new. Plenty of flip phones in landfills with grainy concert videos

I haaaaaate this shit and really wish that more concerts banned phone filming

These people just don’t live for the moment anymore. Whenever I go to Sports games I don’t even take videos. I actually WATCH the event and not through a camera

I was thinking about this with the Masters on this weekend. They have a no phone policy so it’s kinda refreshing seeing a crowd without phones

Too bad Coachella isn’t professionally shot and streamed anywhere.

Kinda fitting since Justin looked like he was just doom scrolling and wishing he was home instead of being there.

It’s more important to show people you’re there rather than BE there.

Why do people do this? Just be present in the moment, I promise you’re not going to watch that footage later…

It sucks…yet they recorded this on their phone…and you watched it on your phone, sooo

I attended the Cowboy Carter Tour last year and scored a ticket inside the Club Ho-Down pit at the Houston show. My phone stayed inside my pocket the entire show and it was amazing to live in the moment. I had the time of my life!

Hey listen, if I didn’t get a video out of floor seat, I might as well not being there

Everyone recording on a screen a performer doing karaoke to a screen. Why buy tickets?

I recently went to a music festival that was mostly people over 40 and I fucking LOVED that there was barely a phone to be seen through most of the performances, with the exception of people maybe taking a quick photo or short video without being too obtrusive. It was great

Coachella is about posting on instagram to show you went, sad as fuck

How often do these people ACTUALLY go back and look at the video? Its all for social media.

And 90% of these people will never look at it ever again

The only exception of this is when the artist is playing your favorite song, but to be like this the whole performance?

I kinda get ‘wanting’ to record the moment… you figure you want to replay to relive, to show people you know that couldn’t attend… but 90% of the videos (100% of the videos of concerts, etc) I have, the camera angle / viewing angle, the digital ‘zoom’, everything about the video… just doesn’t impart the energy, sounds or even the visual aspect of what you see compared to what your phone records. The video you take is ‘useless’ – an abomination to the real thing.
Just be present.
