Violet Grohl: “Obviously doors are open for me because of my last name. It’s not something I’m ever going to hide behind or say, ‘No, I worked so hard for this! You guys shouldn’t say that! That hurts my feelings.’… Come listen to my music and then you can decide for yourself if I’m worthy or not.”

This is literally all we want from all of them.

Yet it’s so hard for so many to say, or even just keep quiet about not believing the opposite.

“Come listen to my music and then you can decide for yourself if I’m worthy of this career or not.”

    🔥🔥

    This is an excellent response.

This is how it’s done and it’s so easy. Her and Jack Quaid are handling the nepobaby connections right.

  4. Ok period I especially love the last quote!!! She has to prove herself just like any other artist and it’s so fucking refreshing to hear someone just acknowledge that.

Oooh love when they just have a sane response to this – I’ll give her a listen!

  6. There’s tons of people who are worthy and more worthy, that don’t get a chance because they don’t have a famous last name.

She should release the music under an anonymous pen name and let it stand on it’s own.  Even doing this will give her unwarranted traffic, attention, and free advertisement that the majority of artist starting out wouldn’t have access to even if they were talented so it’s still not a level playing field.

  8. Pretty refreshing honestly. Most nepo babies either pretend the privilege doesn’t exist or get defensive about it. She’s just owning it and saying judge me on the music. Hard to hate on that.

People act like music genes doesn’t run in the family. I come from over a 100 years of musicians in my family. Most of us even now are musically talented. My daughter plays guitar better than me

  10. My favorite actor is a nepo baby, i think who has for outclassed his last name(though i feel hes far to humble to say that). People need to keep this same energy. Rock on

  11. Gawd she’s like a beautiful version of her father. Of course, her mother is stunning.

  12. Heard her song on the radio last night. I was actually tempted to change the station because of her last name, but I didn’t. The song sounded good to me, and I’ll definitely check out more of her music.

  13. at least she knows about the power of her last name. hope she can use her platform to also showcase smaller creators as well

  14. Excellent answer! I’m not interested but this is still the perfect response and other nepo babies should follow her lead.

I mean this is about as good as it can get from a nepo baby. I think that’s fair enough.

  16. It is so so simple to acknowledge your privilege. Idk if she’s talented or not but I’ve noticed it tends to be the talented nepo babies who come out and say yep, I’ve had amazing opportunities many people don’t and I’m grateful but I still work hard and make things I’m proud of. Meanwhile the expressionless blandies get quite offended when you mention their famous relative.

Ok so before this post i had zero clue of her existence. I looked her up on Apple Music and i am instantly obsessed! Specifically the song “Thum” stuck out to me! Looking forward to the full album coming out in May!

Also shameless smaller artist plug – if you haven’t done so yet do yourself a favor and listen to Gray Connors! She has a new song called “The Smoke” and its heavenly!!! 🩵🧡
