    > The sequel to the 2005 movie, Lord of War, which starred Oscar winner **Nicolas Cage,** sees the actor reprising his role as Yuri Orlov, the world’s most notorious arms dealer. When Yuri discovers he has a son, Anton **(Bill Skarsgård)**, a ruthless mercenary mastermind bent on surpassing his father by building a private army and exploiting America’s wars in the Middle East, he is thrust into a deadly battle for legacy. What begins as a shocking revelation ignites a fierce father-son rivalry fueled by power, ambition, and betrayal – with the global arms trade hanging in the balance.

    > Lord of War grossed $72M at the global box office.

    > Lords of War recently wrapped production in Morocco, and was written and directed by Niccol. Pic also stars

    – **Laura Harrier** (White Men Can’t Jump)
    – **Sylvia Hoeks** (A Sacrifice)
    – **Greg Tarzan Davis** (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning).

  2. The model was Victor Bout. I loved how it was based in truth. The US did a prisoner swap and gave up Bout kind of recently. Did they need a sequel?

Who asked for this? Studios will release sequels to movies nobody cares about anymore and probably didn’t care about in the first place, before investing in more original projects.

The original movie is an absolute classic, easily my favorite from Cage’s filmography.

This one has a big reputation to live up to and chances are that it won’t be as good but since it’s the same director (who also wrote and directed the awesomely underrated Gattaca) I’ll give this one a chance.

Love the film, cannot see how a sequel will work at all. Hope it does somehow but also would hate for it to shit all over the original.

One of my favorite films of all time.
And I really believe it’s one of the most realistic films ever made, and says a lot of truth about our world.
I did an essay in high school about it, I wrote books since, but is still the thing I am most proud of ahahah.

  7. My sister was in this movie as a teenager, and my family still didn’t watch it. So, yeah. LMAO

  8. I remember that the original was produced by Chris Roberts, from Wing Commander and Star Citizen fame.

It was definitely better than the Wing Commander movie.
