It wouldn't be worth me saying that probably almost nobody knows this film because i'm certain folks here will prove me wrong. But i've rarely found people that know it.
I first saw it as a kid on TV some late Sunday afternoon when nothing else was on and I was fascinated by it. Now that we've finally arrived at the frontier of AI development it's worth taking another look at this forgotten gem.

I quite like this movie! Demon seed and colossus the forbin project are both good 70s AI movies.
It’s a fun B-movie, and it’s got a nice bit of philosophical heft; Proteus is a terrific villain. I saw this when it was first released, and have always enjoyed it.
Coincidentally, it was brought to my mind just last night when I watched **Titane**, which has an ending that’s quite similar to **Demon Seed** –the birth of an “unnatural” semi-Human baby.
(Spoiler alert from 1977) The trapezoid monster at the end was inventive and holds up pretty well.
If the AI is based on a distant past version of ChatGPT… sorry, won’t work 😂
