The world is just handed to the Saudis because they sit on an ocean of black gold.

  2. Well surely that won’t mean anything terrible for the future of American media

  3. Still? ***Still?*** Despite all of the Middle East being on fire? Clear evidence enough that the Gulf petro-tyrants wanna have a say in how the merged entity is run. A national security risk, and one which could easily be turned against the US.

Remember: Riyadh financed 9/11. All it takes is the wrong guy succeeding MBS to relapse.

Don’t believe the Ellisons’ lies, DOJ.

    Kill this fucking deal.

And if they won’t? Call your reps. Get loud, flood their lines. The fate of Warner Bros. and HBO is up to you. That is, assuming you love movies.

10 years ago, this would never happen because it’s money from outside the country. But now it’s almost a right of passage. I’m tired of this shit

Too bad the functional government entity that could stop this is even more corrupt than ever before. This is not good.

Ya, only problem is that even with this money Paramount/Skydance has more debt than assets from this deal. Yes, they have some nice IP’s but their road to actual profitability is years out. That and the one guy that was making over 80% of their money with his projects like Yellow Stone, 1923 and a host of other projects just walked away from them. Paramount/Skydance and the potential new owners had some “Notes” for him on what he would/wouldn’t be allowed to do. So when Universal said “Would you like to come work for us, we’ll pay you a billion dollars and we won’t screw your projects over….he told Paramount to f#uck themselves and walked away.

Either this deal won’t happen, and Paramount will be the ones putting themselves up for sale or the deal does happen and Paramount goes down in flames and takes WB with them.
