  1. There can be miracles when you believe 💗 this movie had no business being so good

I am agnostic but I’ve always loved this movie. Never realized they had an all star cast, thanks for sharing OP.

  3. Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer too.

How did they get all these people on board for a cartoon based on the old testament?

I’m in my late 30’s, a recovered evangelical kid, and this is unironically one of my very favorite comfort films. It is beautiful to watch and beautiful to listen to and learn from. I wish all Abrahamics (Muslim, Jewish, and Christian people) could awaken and see the world is being dragged by pseudo-religious figureheads who want to burn the world down through their extremism.

    Faith never warrants war. Period.

Wish Dreamworks did more of these reimaginged Bible stories. They had the Joseph one but I remember that not being as good as Prince of Egypt

  6. My favorite fun fact about this film is that it was in production at the same time as Shrek, which was considered the lesser project where animators were sent when they were in trouble. The Prince of Egypt is a marvelous movie, but compared to the financial success, cultural impact, and staying power Shrek has had it’s hilarious Dreamworks looked down on Shrek so much by comparison, and then it’s even funnier when you consider Shrek’s messaging.

  7. Stacked cast sure, but not a single actual Egyptian person. Representation matters,.

  8. Some of the casting choices never sat right with me. Ralph Fiennes and Val Kilmer did a fantastic job. Sandra Bullock, Jeff Goldblum, and Steve Martin gave some stilted performances and it took me out of the story.

This sound track is incredible and I listen to it all the time. One time, on the NYC subway, I was listening to it. And decided to Google what Moses’s Egyptian mothers name was….and discovered that Moses is not a real person and there is no proof of Exodus. I do not think that there is a god, I haven’t since I was a child. I was raised by normal Christian parents, we went to church on Sunday. I was truly stunned that Moses is not a real person and had a minor break down on the train.

My goodness, I haven’t seen this in so long. I had no idea. This is a fabulous cast!
