More than two decades after her viral lip-sync scandal on Saturday Night Live, Ashlee Simpson says she wants another shot at performing on the show: “That chapter is behind me and I never looked at myself as that moment defined me.”

Oh then I think she missed the life lesson.
She just won the masked singer and honestly her mediocrity was astounding
Let me preface by saying I liked a lot of her songs back in the day. However, she’s not a great vocalist. At all. I think Jessica sounds awful but she does have a powerful voice. Ashlee had fun songs and sounds fine (I appreciate the raspiness) but zero power and she mostly talks in a somewhat melodic way. That’s she thinks she has something to prove vocally is sheer delusion.
Short answer: no
Long answer: NOOOOOOOO
The thing is everyone else looks at that moment as defining her
Did she ever apologize to her band for throwing them under the bus
hey if fab from milli vanilli can turn into a beautiful singer, all bets are off https://youtube.com/watch?v=3UDpQ0eS-vE&pp=ygUfZmFiIG1vcnZhbiBibGFtZSBpdCBvbiB0aGUgcmFpbg%3D%3D
I think we’re good Ash
In the article she said, “Oh yeah, I would definitely go back” so I assume she was asked if she would be open to returning to SNL. The title makes it sound like she brought up the possibility of returning or even requested the opportunity. However the message she appears to be conveying in all of her quotes is that after twenty years she can concretely say she never allowed her mishap to hold her back (as she has already returned to SNL, toured following the incident, and now expresses no opposition to appearing on SNL in the future).
The article title using the phrase “wants another shot” definitely sets a different tone than the actual quotes in the article do.
Ok but can she sing now???
Only if she promises to do the jig.
She may not have let that moment “define” her, but the general public sure as hell did.
So this coat tail riding punch line from 20 years ago wants to be on tv again? I am shocked.
In a weird way I relate to how her immediate impulse when the track skipped was to awkwardly dance a jig
