It’s not the star fleet academy we wanted. Set it after Picard, during Picard or any captain. Set in in an era we know.

As someone who doesn’t have any stake in this franchise, it felt like a wild misstep to try to “Stranger Things” Star Trek and cater to a kids audience. Star Trek always felt like a thing you’re supposed to discover in your late teens/early 20s

  3. I have to believe that at least 25% of them are coma ward patients that have no ability to choose what plays next of the Roku.

  4. Doubt. The source for this is a Youtuber saying “Trust me bro”

Edit: Jesus Christ, the OP’s comment history….

For as loud and intimidating the internet mob is, there is still a vast silent majority you only hear from when the stats and financials are disclosed.

  6. It would be interesting to research how many people didn’t watch it because it a Paramount/CBS franchise.

It was absolute shitty writing. Not the fucking politics, woke bullshit, or mad IP fans. Shit writing, like everything Kutzman touches. Andy Weir was absolutely correct, it was shit, like Discovery.

  8. I love this absurd take from the article…

    >If Mike’s numbers are correct, not only does it mean that *Starfleet Academy* is one of the most colossal failures in the history of streaming, **it also means that most of the show’s defenders are bots.**

Wouldn’t that also mean that most of the shows critics are bots? Or is there a tacit admission there that people are critiquing it without having watched even the premiere episode? Either way, it’s a bit of a self-snitch.

  9. it’s almost like they made it specifically for 0.00000000001% of the global population and that’s exactly who watched it.

    what’s the problem?
