Oh man. 15 years are going go by before this thing is over. The kids will be too old and Lithgow is already 80.

they’ve said from day 1 it’s going to be 7 seasons over 10 years, so this isn’t news.

Lmao, of course it won’t. Somehow we went from making 13-22 episodes a year to not even being able to do 8. And while the fact that a lot of these shows are fantasy/have a lot of post production is part of it, the difference between 8 and 22 should be enough to compensate for but it doesn’t. It’s like they completely forgot what medium this is.

The show will end with Voldemort winning because Harry threw his hip out trying to get up from the couch for the final battle.

The movies weren’t over in seven years either. I don’t know why this is an issue.

Game of Thrones was doing a season per year until the last few seasons, so I don’t really believe this it’s just not possible bullshit.

7 books, John Lithgow is 80, one season roughly every two years. By my math – that’s 14-15 years and John Lithgow will still be Dumbledore by the time he’s 95.

And that’s putting aside everybody else’s ages like the kids, which will inevitably pose problems.

I mean, this timeline doesn’t make sense, lol. So, they’ll have to either change this timeline and commit to recasting several roles – or the show is probably doomed from the start.

  9. Classic modern productions, goin for 6 ep every 2-3 years. In the other hand you have Slow horses, who has 6 ep seasons but they delivered one after the other in incredible production pace.

So they’re rebooting a series that finished releasing 15 years ago, opening an extreme culture war with every weekly thread and plot past, certain actors will receive death threats or hate every day until the show is forgotten, and it will air every 18-36 months?

This might be the most poorly orchestrated show we will ever see out of HBO, which is just beyond imagining.

  11. Casting an 80 year old for a ten year commitment is nuts. Not unlikely another Dumbledore dies mid-series before they get to that his big role in season 6 in the 2030s.

Why is it that it’s become a problem in the last 10is years, but was completely fine before? I miss when seasons were yearly and had 20+ episodes a season.

Modern TV is utterly incapable of making anything past 10 episodes and then having the episode count go down season after season until we get a paltry final season that does nothing to satisfy.

I’m not bitter about Game of Thrones

  14. That doesn’t make sense, the story is complete, so scripts shouldn’t be an issue, sets and props will be established. Seems more economical to make the seasons on an old school broadcast tv schedule. Did they learn nothing from stranger things production schedule ultimately kneecapping its popularity.

It’s better to boycott these 6-8 episode season every couple year shows.

  16. I genuinely do not believe this show will ever finish all seven books. I have a feeling it will be cancelled around season 3.

  17. I don’t believe them. We used to have 22 episode yearly seasons from drama shows like this but now these 8-10 episoders wiht mostly CGI are somehow too much to handle? I’m at the point where it takes so long for new shows to finish that I won’t bother starting any new shows that seem interesting until they are done, IF they are ever done because they love dragging these shows out and then cancelling randomly. And maybe stop producing so many shows when 90% of them are garbage and you’d have more time to work on the ones people like? This entertainment era of quantity over quality is getting really old.
