Ryan Gosling to movie goers at a NYC showing of ‘Project Hail Mary’: “Thank you just for coming to the theater. I think obviously theaters need you, but it’s not your job to keep them open, it’s our job to make things that make it worth you coming out. So, that’s what we did with this film.”

My longest celebrity crush. First saw him in Fracture, and that made me a fan. Also, love how sensible he is. Good on him.

  2. Meanwhile other studios: here’s a 3-hour CGI mess, take it or leave it.

Kuddos to him, refreshing to see some honesty 😭👏🏽

  3. So true, it’s been a long time since I felt compelled to watch movies at the theatre, mostly superhero slop, shitty comedies or horror films that follow the same spent formula ( Scream 7??). It’s a real shame because I love the sound, that I can’t reproduce anywhere else, and the screen size, but 80% of the last visits I can’t help to have a bitter taste in my mouth like this was not really worth it and ” I could’ve watch this in my living room”.

  4. Ryan Gosling, I didn’t really care about you before Barbie, but you have now bewitched me body and soul.

Yes to this—studios need to prioritize more thoughtful, well-made original films, rather than churning out reboots and sequels on sequels where the budget is used up on star power and CGI and the writing is dumbed-down so that the audience can be on their phones at the same time.

  6. that makes sense

wont catch me paying movie theater prices any time soon though lmao

    get the fuck outta here

I would flip out if he popped into my movie theater. There’s one particular theater close to Columbus Circle where the stars would just “randomly” (ie unbeknownst to attendees) introduce the movie.
