    **Brief summary**:

    * **Valerie Perrine**, the actress known for *Superman* (1978) and *Lenny* (1974), has **died at age 82**.
    * She was Oscar-nominated for her role as Honey Bruce in *Lenny* and also won the **Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival** for that performance.
    * Perrine also played **Eve Teschmacher**, Lex Luthor’s assistant, in *Superman* and *Superman II*.
    * Before acting, she worked as a **Las Vegas showgirl**, and her career later included film and TV roles across several decades.
    * She had been dealing with **Parkinson’s disease** in later years.

  3. RIP. I read an article about her a year or two ago and she wasn’t doing that well.

  4. Aww man, when I rewatched the 1978 Superman ahead of the 2025 Superman, I noticed that she was one of the only surviving cast members. We’re down to just Jimmy Olsen, Ursa, Non, and the kid who played teenage Clark with Christopher Reeve’s voice dubbed over.

  5. Probably my favorite joke in Superman is that when Luthor is freaking out about “Otisberg” on the map you see the “Teschmacher Peaks” mountain range off to the side.

Whoah boy. I remember as a young kid at the theater seeing voluptuous Ms. Tessmacher in Superman and feeling…kinda funny.

Montana Wildhack, *Slaughterhouse Five.* The most gorgeous creature. My husband never got over it 😉 (Also, fantastic movie if you’ve not seen it; based on Kurt Vonnegut’s novel.)
