Not a good look for them, they should fix it asap. And since it’s a cartoon, hopefully they can quickly adjust it before the official release.

Kpop has a bad habit of using Black culture without acknowledging Black people.

  3. It was disrespectful. Point, blank, period. They need to apologize and fix this but I highly doubt they will.

This isn’t the first time they’ve messed up in a major way (Idc, that Jim Jones sample is REPULSIVE). I don’t care if it was them or their team, it was not okay. They have made their entire careers off the backs of black art and culture and then they do things like this. And I know people give them credit for working with black people behind the scenes but maybe they should also think about centering black people in other ways too (I hated the MV for swim, sorry lmao) if they’re going to use their culture to the degree that they do, including opening the album with insane amounts of AAVE.

I love BTS, but this is looking like a pattern to me.

I had to stop listening to KPop because of this crap. Every group seems to have a controversy specifically around Black history, people, culture, yet every single time they wave it away with “we’re in South Korea! We’re ignorant about this!” But never too ignorant to swipe our music, our dances, our style. Only thing they don’t want to learn is our history

BTS has several counts of “ignorance,” too, smh
