  1. I’m hyped to watch it again. Crazy unpredictable energy in this one and it looks amazing.

I wish it got more love in some of the technical categories.. but the same kind of stuff aways wins. Jack Fisk is a fucking boss.

I haven’t seen it yet but from what I understand this is solidly 3rd place in Josh Safdie’s “unlikable hustler ruins people’s lives for his benefit” trilogy behind Good Time and Uncut Gems, right

Edit. Please don’t yell at me. I liked both of those films and plan to watch Marty once I can

Really deserved to win at least one Oscar. Casting was the one I thought it had on lock, but OBAA won that for some reason. Idk I just think casting non actors and getting great performances out of them deserves at least one award.

Side note: I love OBAA, and it had great casting. I just think that Marty Supreme had some super bold casting choices that worked out in its favor, wish that got recognized

I feel like this movie is getting the Buffalo Bills treatment.

The Bills went to 4 Super Bowls in a row and lost all 4, creating the perception that the team were losers. And yet, compared to every other team in the history of the NFL, they were the only ones who made it to 4 consecutive Super Bowls. They were still a really good team.

I don’t much care whether or not other people like Marty Supreme. I have no strong opinions on it myself. But “Ha ha ha, you were only in the top 5 for a bunch of different things” isn’t the insult that a lot of people seem to think it is.

  5. An incredibly weak Oscar season. So many movies that just didn’t deserve noms got rounds of them.

I’ve been seeing people argue about this movie nonstop, so at least now everyone can actually watch it without hunting down a showing.

I love this film but this headline does a good job of burying “after losing all 9 Oscar nominations”
