I really don’t understand why everyone isn’t more upset over AI taking our jobs as we speak.
It’s happening to almost everyone and very rapidly.
I hate this place
and yet 48% of the country will defend this because people just LOVE everyone suffering for some reason. “healthcare, education, environmental regulation? FUUUUUUUCK NOOO!!!! Automating jobs that can be automated is actually good though, it’s just the tax/financial rails around that which mean all the financial benefits of doing so go to a small number of people rather than society as a whole that is the problem.

AI overlords don’t want human capital. They are working on the principle that AI can replace all jobs.

Is there any effective way of FIGHTING BACK? I know people would gladly FIGHT BACK if there would be clear path for it. Someone should create simple enough instructions that masses could execute. It needs to be coordinated, collective and relatively fast enough to effect for it to work.

I always thought AI/Robots would take jobs but back as a tech loving teen I thought “Oh the gov will surely pay humans if robots take the work…”
But it’s looking more and more there’s zero plan to do that, not to mention the INSANE belief so many have about a “handout” …. when COVID was literally killing the human race and we couldn’t work, but god forbid you get a check even if you literally could die if you had gone to work.

Got let go because of “Ai”. Ai cannot do my job or most of the jobs of the 4k people let go. Read today said company is quietly hiring back some folks. And the people that are left are underwater doing the jobs of 10+ people without much additional pay. I think a lot of these layoffs are saying Ai as a cover and these companies are looking for cheaper labor and/or correcting for over-hiring during covid. That said, my company was profitable, like how much fucking more do you want? It’s never going to be enough for these tech bro billionaires, never.
