Mina Le on turning down brand deals that are not aligned with her audience “I understand it because it’s a life-changing amount of money, but you have to think about your career long term, not just short term. If you don’t build trust with your audience, your career is going to be like two years.”

She’s right, although I still believe we need to go back to shaming people for being corporate sellouts in the first place.

I don’t know where the line is, so forgive me, but it’s different for a lot of people. We’re not always able to do the right thing, just the right thing for us. For example, I’d love to be a starving artist but I have disorders that require me to have health insurance, which means I have to sell out. This is true for millions of Americans and even more people worldwide (in different ways). Similarly, I come from a culture where I’m responsible for my parents’ financial wellbeing after their retirement. Basically what i’m trying to say is we have to hold the system accountable rather than people.

it’s obviously different if you’re a millionaire trying to be a billionaire or whatever, but is that true for most people? That’s rare, isn’t it?

Happy to be wrong here, but please explain!
Again, don’t know where the line is, but I do know there is one.

  3. Oof this made me think about Trixie Mattel still taking those BetterHelp sponsorships, no matter how many times her comments say how much of a shit company they are, she still sings them praises smh.

  4. Honestly, even the fact that she bothers to cite her sources clearly on her videos differentiates her from 90% of other YouTube yappers

  5. like I get it, it can be rough trying to be an entrepreneur content creator and having to put sm time and effort into something that may not get the attention it deserves. so I give a little grace to smaller content creators because they’re still trying to get their bearings in order BUT I absolutely draw the line at sports betting and gambling sponsorships. I don’t think ANYONE should be promoting that.

Love to see Mina on my timeline. Her substack and YouTube channel rocks!!

  7. God! I hope this is true, I’ve honestly hated the Jessica Rabbit looking Sidney sweeney. She isn’t just a sellout but a completely gross person with family ties to gross behavior.

    She needs to go.
