Reviews
This action-packed, blood-soaked sequel is just what fans have been waiting for the past seven years, hopefully paving the way for a trilogy in this sinister world Radio Silence has created.
IndieWire (8/10):
"Ready Or Not 2" goes double or nothing and plays for keeps. Either you get on board with the way the world is changing, or you die. It's really that simple.
AV Club (B-):
Happily, the narrative moves ahead quickly, the better to demonstrate new, inventive methods of reducing murder-happy billionaires to sloppy carcasses in between beats where Weaving and Newton get to play off of one another.
IGN (6/10):
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is an agreeable, if unnecessary sequel which, through its larger scale, proves that less is often more.
Making a sequel to something as perfectly standalone as Ready or Not was always going to be a risk, but double or nothing pays major dividends with a story this deliciously dark.
DiscussingFilm (4.5/5):
It took 7 years for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come to see the light of day. A lot has happened in those years, some good, some bad. Regardless, all that time has allowed the crew to reunite and create a sequel that exceeds expectations. We go to the movies for many reasons, yet they all essentially come down to the same theme: we want to be swept away. Ready or Not 2 is the exact movie to do that job, taking viewers on a gruesome thrill ride full of huge laughs and rich mythology. In the horror-comedy space, no one’s doing it like Radio Silence has with the Ready or Not franchise.
SlashFilm (80):
Horror sequels often divide fans, especially when the original develops a passionate cult following like Ready or Not. Matching that film's sharp humor, bloody chaos, and bonkers energy would be no small feat. Fortunately, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come proves to be just as explosively fun as its predecessor, even if it's essentially "the same, but more."
Dread Central (3.5/5):
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come may not be as tightly constructed or as horrific as it could be, but it delivers plenty of fun, action, and gleeful carnage. Most importantly, it once again confirms that Samara Weaving remains one of the genre’s best secret weapons, giving her the perfect showcase to shine her brightest.
Nerdist (3.5/5):
It’s intended as a fun, violent slasher flick where you can simply turn your brain off for 90 minutes and enjoy. And that’s exactly what it gives. Samara Weaving is, and always will be, an iconic scream queen that has my whole heart.
