I’m indifferent to this news, but holy shit, Mario Lopez hasn’t aged a day in 30 years.

  2. Steve Wilkos did not have a show anymore, I refuse to believe it was still going

The old joke was Steve Wilkos looked like a fat Cal Ripken.

Cal, I can only assume, packed on weight post retirement in solidarity.

Syndication worked when people had limited options and watched whatever was on. Now everyone has Netflix, YouTube, TikTok. People don’t schedule their day around 3pm TV anymore when they can watch whatever they want on demand.

  5. I understand why daytime tv is dying. The last time I was sick and actually home on a weekday I turned on the TV to watch something and it was an absolute wasteland of nothing.

And the ads were so so intrusive as well . Commercial breaks seemed longer. During the shows there were pop up ads for other shows. And I swear some of the reruns were sped up or something because the voices in some of the old sitcom reruns seemed higher and quicker for some reason.

I lasted maybe 15 minutes before I turned on a streaming service and binged comfort shows.

Damn Access Hollywood has been on TV for a long time too.

If they’re pointing to losing daytime audiences to YouTube, why not just air them on YouTube then?

I’m surprised Access Hollywood made it this far. I suspect Entertainment Tonight is not far behind. It’s a shame.

  8. FFS this was the one reason I even cared about TV at all. I hope Steve at least keeps his YouTube channel running.
