  1. These streaming services are making it real easy for me to make the decision on whether to cut them out. I find myself on the fence and then another price increase comes along.

  2. Heh, my Prime subscription is ending in a few days anyhow. Good to know I’ll be missing even less.

A 66.8% increase is insane and they still have terrible UI after all these years

  4. I’m not paying $5 to watch The Boys or Scarpetta. I can’t even tell you what other shows they have.

  5. Thanks. I have had the ad free fee live for the last 6 months and forgot.

It is easy to turn this on and off when you decide to watch Prime shows but it is also easy to forget.

This isn’t that big a problem considering most people who pay for prime are doing it literally for the shopping. However, if I’m paying for prime I think the least you can do is thrown in the shittiest version of your already shitty video player

  7. Another nail in the coffin to confirm my reasoning for wanting to cancel my Prime membership thank you Amazon!

Just got that email. Confused by it because I thought it was just included with my Prime subscription. So if they’re going to start charging extra for it, I’ll just cut it.

The stupidest thing about prime video is you can’t buy the ad free tier right away. You need to buy prime, and only then find the option for ad free addon

Stopped Prime end of last year after countless issues with orders, shitty customer service IF you could even get a rep on chat instead of AI; the one dude literally asked “Are we done here now?”. They initially added everything to Prime as a great value add and quickly changed it so you’d have to have Prime AND pay more to get the extra benefits. Rip off and shitty ass company.

I mean I just won’t upgrade I already wasn’t paying the $3 or whatever it was before I’m sure as hell not gonna start now

And as a result I canceled my current add-free add-on.

Not ready to cancel Prime yet, but that day is coming.

Welp, guess goodbye streaming. It’s just too costly for too little selection with mid-to terrible new content with maybe 1% of it being something I’m actively very impressed by.

Wrecking Crew is dumb fun but I’m tired of direct to video quality stuff being churned out.

Canceled prime earlier this month for the first time in 10 years.

    Same with Spotify.

    Feels fucking great

They’re vastly overestimating how many people care about Prime Video. Having it come free (even if it’s not actually free and the cost is just bundled in with normal Prime) was a great way to get people to watch stuff. It’s legitimately a great bonus add on.

Obviously selection varies by country but at least where I live there is nowhere near enough quality content on Prime Video to justify paying for it. 3 or 4 good shows does not a viable streaming service make.

They always have to make more money. At some point companies stop improving the product to attract more customers and shift to making the product worse so they can get more money from their existing customers. It’s why every company goes downhill before long.

  17. Prime has 2 good shows. Worth taking a moment to find the “free” add-free tier. Break out the skull and crossbones fellas 🏴‍☠️

Amazon has some good shows, but like only 5 or 10. How many people are going to pay this extra fee for such little content. Half the shit on their store you have time rent. If they are charging this they better step up their game.

There are lots of things we systematically can’t change in America, specifically. But we can break and bend this streaming era much easier than anything else.

  20. The crazy thing is they still play ads on movies you have bought through them. Not just the free ones.

lol is there anyone paying for this add-on? Prime Video has basically nothing that I care to watch outside of NBA games, so this is (once again) going to matter to me absolutely zero.
