Look, I don’t know a lot about One Piece but saying it’s the “best adaptation on TV right now” like we didn’t have anything good weeks ago like Fallout is kinda dumb.

Even that GoT spin off seems to be doing well too.

  2. Difference between people who actually care about the source material and willing to pay homage to it and people who think they know better than the author. Death Note, Resident Evil, The Witcher, etc are adaptations on what not to do.

  3. The company that produced this also made the Cowboy Bepop adaptation, which bombed and fans hated.

Now with One Piece, the legendary creators approved every major creative choice. Scripts, casting, and watches cuts of episodes.

Who would have thought that having the creator heavily involved works?!

    I didn’t care for it.

“Goofy” characters irritate me for some reason.

I couldn’t stand Jerry Lewis movies when I was a little kid, and Jar Jar Binks ruined the movie for me.

  5. I watched 3 episodes and thought this show sucked. Just some of the most obnoxious characters I’ve ever seen.

Calling it a great fantasy seems like bad comedy

If One Piece goes to shit it’ll be with S3, because the original showrunner that’s passionate about the source material still worked on S2 before leaving.
