Rooting for Wunmi and the whole Sinners team at next week’s Oscars.

The original is so bad. It doesn’t even look like Mosaku, and the image makes her look sloppy. Sad the artist put no effort into it and some editor approved it.

Amen. That b&w piece is utter shit – they got her looking like a Temu Genie from Aladdin

The one that was published is supposed to be Wunmi? o_O

Wunmi is so gorgeous. The illustration really doesn’t look like her. Good for this artist.

The original artist is João Fazenda, and, if you google any of his other works, they are all in the same lane.
It’s just his art style.

Wunmi is one of the most beautiful women in the world, and that original illustration is what they went with? It doesn’t even resemble her. *tsk tsk tsk*

😂 Scrolled and didn’t read anything. Only saw the picture. Was wondering who the first woman was next to Wunmi. Yikes

Note: the **left** picture is the one that appeared in the New Yorker. Also, per the New Yorker article, this was what Wunmi looked like (she did that interview right after her appearance on the Kelly Clarkson show), which their illustration by João Fazenda tried to capture:
