My limited view as an outsider is that this is a very niche fanbase that’s also notoriously difficult to please. Dr Who seems to be a high-risk, low-reward role at this point.

  2. The real answer is because nobody is currently looking, but that’s not going to get clickbait headlines.

The show needs to get its funding in place and figure out if the existing production team are staying or or if a new studio is getting brought in. After all that’s been settled then you start looking for a new Doctor.

Managed to read the poison as far as the dart blaming a trans person in a minor role. Let me know if the Telegraph were suggesting any solutions or positivity anywhere.

  4. What they should do is retcon all the shitty writing and start again just after 12. But that won’t happen.

  5. might as well try a doogie howser with this shit. genZ and alpha gotta deal with all our baggage in the real world.

Maybe because it doesn’t mean what it used to. Comparing it to the Eccleston series or Tennant’s first run is absolutely painful. The last time I caught a bit of an episode I genuinely thought it was a parody or was going to turn out to be an advert for something.

I still think that Capaldi should have been the last Doctor. Then Jodie could have portrayed another Time Lord but not the Doctor and make the stories about aliens and different planets, not America.

The only showrunner I would trust would never get hired because he’s American. That person is Tony Gilroy. But I have no idea if he is even a fan. Davies and his disciples simply has to go.

And it would be crazy to accept the role unless a stellar showrunner took over and had amazing plans to provide something different but still faithful.
