Bill Lawrence has been writing about rich people for too long. His shows are far too sacharrine nowadays. I really like Ted Lasso and Shrinking but everything gets undercut by humour. When they’re trying to balance tragedy and comedy they never let the tragedy breathe. I think he should sit down and rewatch Scrubs season 1 & 2 again.

Granted I haven’t seen the show but I’ve sure seen all the ads since I have the ad tier for HBO. One thing that immediately stood out to me for some reason was the clearly shitty AI they used on the book covers. That right there said all I needed to know about the likely quality of the show haha

The trailer didn’t seem particularly inspired. Was giving me similar vibes to Your Friends and Neighbors where it’s like yeah it’s watchable, but given the number of shows out there today I’m not sure why I should watch it over something else

Has he been in anything must watch ever since the The Office?

Dated and uninspired is how I felt about Space Force.

The trailer made me think “this is a middle aged man’s fantasy”. Not saying that’s bad but it didn’t interest me.

Sounds like a Bill Lawrence show

From the trailer it just looked like a ripoff of lucky Hank

I love Steve Carnell but it seems like, unless he’s challenged by a role, he resorts to acting like… well Steve Carell.
Kinda like how Jason Statham plays Jason Statham in every movie.

Steve Carell has one of the worst resumés of any current beloved actor.

Checks which publication wrote it…
Sounds like I’d like it!

Crazy I just got done reading IGN’s review that gave it 10/10.

The trailer for this made it look so bland, something a midwestern white dad would watch

Comedy is basically dead. I don’t understand how they keep making these shows. Not a single laugh. Everything just feels so cringe at best, and extremely boring at worst.

Steve Carell seems to be allergic to multi season shows after The Office. I’ll check this out, but if he fucking dies in a car crash AGAIN, I swear to God.

So he’s supposed to be Lee Child since Rooster = Reacher?

He hasn’t really found his next hit role in quite some time.

Bummer, I was looking forward to this but it does seem pretty familiar.
