That seems about right, S4 felt like the penultimate season with>!|Carmy deciding to let go of The Bear.!<

I know the internet has completely turned on the show, but I absolutely loved it.

Sure it is not as chaotic and wacky as season 1, but I love how in-depth it got about mental health with all the characters.

Season 4 was such a satisfying redemption arc for Carmy and I am excited to see the passing of the baton in this last season.

This seemed pretty obvious given the last two seasons were more or less the writers trying to stretch one season of material into three.

Season two of this show was peak television, but it’s fallen off. Hopefully, they end it on a high note.

Consistently love this show, love watching it and am glad we got 5 seasons out of it. Will be sad to see it go!

I liked S3 & S4 more than the general reception it’s gotten (especially S4), but I really hope that S5 is a feel-good/celebratory season to close the show’s story & the arcs of its main ensemble

  7. At some point the show started taking itself a bit too serious. Which would have been fine if it wasn’t being sold as a comedy.

It took me a long time to slog through season 4. No growth, just fan service. I will not be participating in season 5.

I predict Donna will drive a car through the ER where Claire Bear is working on Bob Odenkirk while Ritchie yeah I don’t care.

One of my all time fav shows that explores toxic family dynamics in such a human way. I happen to find out with the help of this show that my mom is narcissistic and no, she doesn’t have the emotional maturity of Donna to feel regretful of the way she raised her kids. But again, it took Michael to off himself when she realised how fucked her upbringing of her kids really was.

This will always be my fav dramedy out of all the ones that I’ve watched. The cultures and family dynamics are very different from the country where I come from yet so similar in some aspects, its almost uncomfortable.

Sad to see it go, but it has run its course and it should end before it starts to get stale and repetitive.

S5 is a good place to end it. The show was damn good but you can tell that they’re starting to run out of ideas.

  11. They lost me when they did an entire episode of two minor characters in a hospital room.

  12. Seasons 3 and 4 are basically part 1/2 of the same season. If it was presented like that most of the reception would be different.

I haven’t watched this show. What shows would you compare it too and do you all recommend it?

  14. The show lost itself when it spent more and more time outside of the restaurant. I’m not saying we shouldn’t see the characters develop and explore their lives/surroundings, but the chaos in the kitchen that made the first 2 seasons thrive has been missing in S3 and S4.

I was one of the season 3 grumblers, but I felt season 4 really righted the ship. I think the pieces are there to send the show off right and, if this is true, it’s the right call.

  16. Not gonna lie, the last 2 seasons I have no recollection of how the story actually moved forward.
