Sterling K. Brown’s Subway Hot Take: “Red delicious apples are actually disgusting. I’m a child of the 80s & in school all they had was red delicious, yellow delicious, & Granny Smith. And they tried to act like this is supposed to be the crème de la crème. This red apple that crumbles in my mouth?”

Hyper fixed podcast has an episode on this exact topic. Essentially, they were good but then they were bred for color of flavour. But they deep dive into the history of it

I don’t like apples at all, but as a New Yorker, I pretend to especially during apple picking season. I don’t like that tingly taste from the tartness that you get in your mouth or how they hurt my gums. it doesn’t many what type of apple it is, they all hurt and i don’t like any of them but I still pay for a bag of picked apples. I hate apples.

I thought this too until I bought some from a giant bin outside of a grocery store in Stevenson, Washington that were locally grown. They were some of the best apples I’ve ever had.

He’s 1000% right and he should say it.

Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, and Granny Smith the only acceptable apples.

Agreed! Honeycrisp is the most delicious. Unfortunately, also, the most expensive in my stores.

  6. I had the worst red delicious cravings when I was pregnant. My kid refuses to eat apples.

    I don’t believe in coincidence
