Lmao the oscarrace sub was so convinced that Timotheé was going to win and that Michael had *no* chance 💀

    CONGRATS MICHAEL!

SO DESERVED!!! I’m a part of the union and thrilled to have the right guy win – he was so superior to TC, it’s been a frustrating awards season. So happy MBJ won!!!

God I really hope he wins the Oscar. He gave 2 phenomenal performances in that movie.

Does anyone know what she says before she announces his name? “You are shining…?”

They LOVE him ❤️❤️❤️ I hope the directors, producers, and crew members voting in the Oscars love him that much!

Her joy and Samuel L. Jackson’s utter glee before getting to announce Sinners as the ensemble cast winners… I felt that!!! Such a good ending to the night!

I think its special that the first person he hugged is Delroy after the week they have had. That guy meant something to the both of them. He seemed soo shocked. Congratulations to him! 👏🏾

  8. His win was wonderful and so well deserved and her reaction made it even better

Oscar is very much still Timmy’s to lose but this is a welcome shakeup.

  10. I know you can’t give an award for a prior performance, but I’ve seen some critiques of MBJ in Sinners saying he didn’t do much. I think he did, even if some was subtle. I highly suggest anyone unsure watch Fruitvale Station (also directed by Coogler and scored by Göransson).

Being the winner voted on by peers just holds more weight to me than an Oscar .

Super happy it was Viola Davis that got to announce the name. She facilitated a panel with some of the cast and the casting director, including MBJ, and praised his performance to know end! She loves the movie.

And Ethan Hawke warmed my heart because dud just loves the craft and radiates joy for anyone that does it well (and isn’t a d*ck off camera, I’m guessing).
