  1. When I was young, I always had to watch this scene on low volume. The sounds were really chilling to me. Still are, but I can stand them better these days!

    Kind of a twisted way to justify having the old crew involved, can’t have the new crewmembers be delayed, no just have to kill them in the worst way possible during a routine transportation that had nothing to do with the plot.

    People say this movie is slow 😉 then it drops one of the most disturbing scenes in the franchise and
    for a franchise about hope and exploration, this scene was pure nightmare fuel

  4. When I was a little kid, I remember watching the TV show reruns with my uncle in 1976 and asking him “what happens if that transporter thingy doesn’t work right” and my unc said “well they come thru as bloody piles of goop” and I just sat there in shock

  5. This is made even worse when you realise that one of the people that died here was Kirk’s ex-wife.
