Harry just doesn’t have a voice for this kind of music. He’s too bland to match the exciting pace and too lacking in personality to even be interesting over the beat (for example The Blue Nile have disco adjacent tracks but at least tje lead singers voice has character).
He works a lot better over the more low-key and slow cuts. When he tries to be exciting it doesn’t work as well

I think the song is nice as parts away from this need for every single to be catchy and algorithmically tailored for maximum replay value. The goofy dance fits the sincere joy and laissez-aller of this part of the song. It seems earnest and I’m all for earnest art.

I’ve seen worse but I miss the unique and interesting choreo from the early 2010s from Gaga and Beyonce and also those high energy choreographed performances of Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Britney back then.
People can’t sing live nowadays and a lot of them even sound off key on the record with autone and shit. Even the live choreo look sloppy. This is not just exclusive to Harry Styles btw. It’s all of them new singers and Taylor Swift. They all suck.
