I’m glad the people who act so heinous and recklessly are finally facing consequences for their behavior. Imagine going about your life, learning 4 innocent students were murdered by a psychotic serial killer with no motive less than a mile away from you, and some stupid woman makes an unfounded claim to make a quick buck out of *the murder of college students* leading the entire internet decides to completely harass you for years on end.
She got isolated from her coworkers, harassed in public, physically ill, etc because of this lady. She could’ve gotten fired from her job, and even despite getting vindicated her academic career is going to forever be tainted. It’s always going to be “Isn’t that book by the lady who people were saying murdered those students,” instead of respecting her work for what it is. And you already know she’s going to become a campus urban legend and never be treated normally by students for a while. I’m glad she’s getting the payout she deserves.
