Late-night host Stephen Colbert weighed in on the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the man formerly known as Prince Andrew. Andrew was detained by Thames Valley Police on February 19, 2026, in connection to the “misconduct in public office” revelations found in the recent Epstein file dump.

The royal family kept this scandal hidden for years, they are equally as bad.
‘Keep calling him Prince Andrew, I think he should be written about with every single title he’s held, to remind us of the institution that has protected him for decades. Calling him just Andrew normalises him, he is a Prince.’ – jackdaverooke on Instagram
You know it’s serious when Stephen Colbert is leading with it.
It doesn’t surprise me that the Royal Family (as an institution) that watched Europe depose most of its crowns during two world wars would throw its most obviously guilty member to the wolves if it meant the royals could continue existing.
First of all, “misconduct in public office” is a joke compared to the real crimes and secondly, this guy has had security his whole life, so what were his security detail doing when he was raping underage girls? Seems like there were people withholding knowledge of his crimes and should be held culpable for their participation, or lack of in this case.
