  1. I kind of hate this movie, even if I have a soft spot for Scorpion king, and adored the first one.

Just didn’t seem to respect the first one enough for me.

Anaksunamuns portrayal really bothered me, and makes the romantic angle of the first one, and the story of the Mummy in general much less poignant.

  2. This movie was a mistake, and i say it as someone that saw it as a kid in theatres. Imstead of redoing a bad version of the first movie they should have had o conner facing a different universal monster in each entry

  3. This film is where Rachel Weisz was the most beautiful.

Not the first film (Librarian Evy) – this one.

Despite the poster using an image of her from the first film lol.

I used to love it a lot growing up. But rewatching it recently, its quite the drop off from the first one. Giving the kid a subplot was a mistake, he’s the least interesting character in the film. Evelyn being Nerfertiti in a previous life was clumsily written. Then if course tbat hard to 3rd act fight between Rick, I’m Imhotep, and Scorpion King.

Saw the first one when they re-released it in 2024, I’ll probably see this one too.

(If they ever re-release the third one…I’ll definitely pass)

Watching this after watching the mummy back to back really showed the cash grab it basically became.

The first is arguably one of the greatest action adventures of all time.

I get *The Mummy* is pulpy fun and worth seeing big, but isn’t this film just actively bad? (It’s years since I watched it).

  8. Ive only seen the Taracota Army one.

Is this “The Mummy” Returning to theaters

or, “The Mummy Returns” Returning to theaters?

I hope they don’t redo/improve the CG Scorpion King – I want the Gen Zers to be shocked, disturbed and sicken the same way as we Millennials were when we were kids in 2001.

I don’t understand why they’re releasing this again. Is it because the reboot with Tom Cruise failed?
