Prey proved the franchise works when you strip it back to survival and tension. If Badlands keeps that focus, I’m not surprised it’s pulling numbers

The movie felt like a love letter to the Dark Horse comics, which I really enjoyed. I hope they keep letting this team make more.

Wow, this is definitely one of the last hurdles this film needed to pass to sway Disney into making more.

While its box office was great (highest grossing Predator film ever) its budget was big enough that Disney could have had second thoughts if they wanted to.

Clearly, audience demand is there, so I’m glad it’s still doing well.

Even crazier, Dek the Yautja is the perfect protagonist for a fully realized Alien vs Predator reboot.

  4. This was a very fun movie. Taking a premise (a Predator) that we’ve seen in multiple movies, and giving us an interesting/compelling story along with all the sci-fi goodness? That’s a feat.

Dan Trachtenberg not only saved a dwindling franchise, but he’s making good movies.

If you’ve not seen Predator: Killer of Killers (and animated anthology on Hulu) it’s also very good. I also liked “Predator” with Adrian Brody and Walter Goggings – it was fun.

  5. Never seen a Predator movie before this and was blown away by how awesome and fun this was, cant wait to rewatch

I thought Prey was much better but I’ll be glad if this means they’re going to invest more into exploring the franchise.

I didn’t have the chance to catch it in theaters, but I did watch it on Hulu the other night and loved it. Watching it again soon.

  8. The chemistry between Thea and Dek was amazing!! The little baby critter was just icing on the cake. Can’t wait for the sequel!!

  9. Tried to see this in theaters, but I don’t think they even had it in here. ☹️

Good thing saw this on Disney Plus.

  10. It was way better than i thought it would be. This kind of film is why I am glad theaters still exist.

  11. Felt like a Marvel movie to me.

Glad it was successful so we can get more, but I’d prefer more like Prey, less like Badlands, imo.

  12. The movie was legit awesome and I would love more. I saw it in the theater and would see a second done in the theater as well. Please make more of these.

  13. I was prepared for this move to be terrible from the trailer. A dumb movie with a dumb idea that just isn’t a Predator movie.

    Boy was I wrong >.>

This movie was great. It was fun, exciting, fresh. I liked the characters. The plot had twists and turns. It might be simple but damn if it wasn’t effective. It even feels like it fits in the franchises legacy honestly with the sense of old Dark Horse Predator comics being all over it. It even feels like it’s harkoning back to AVPR at times and the one cool thing in that movie; Wolf. Badlands almost feels like someone had the idea to grab Wolf out of AVP and reinvent his character with an actual origin story and tale for him free of the otherwise horrible lighting and shitty plot of AVPR.

This movie was a wonderful surprise.

  14. As great as this movie was I don’t want a sequel to it. I want them to keep making awesome standalone films. I don’t want to see Predator Badlands 4: The Revenge of Jonesy

  15. I thought it was a great time. I didn’t really enjoy the animated Predator movie before it by the same director, but he surely has rebooted the whole franchise. I do wonder if they make a sequel with how they did the ending (avoiding spoilers) if they try to tie it into Aliens (like another comment said). But with the Alien:Earth show just finished season 1 I feel like they might want to get that going first before thinking of a cross over.

  16. It was actually pretty good. When I first saw the advert I was like…gonna be the same deal but preds are a different color now..
But it actually had a decent little story that came together ok.

  17. My mind was blown I hadn’t heard of this.. thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like too many movies are forcing comic relief, but they did a great job with all of it here though. It reminds me of the original Thor movie when he wasn’t dumb, just didn’t understand Earth’s ways.
