    >For dust you are. #LeeCroninsTheMummy only in theaters April 17.

    >Hot off the record-setting resurrection of EVIL DEAD RISE, writer/director Lee Cronin turns to one of the most iconic horror stories of all time with an audacious and twisted retelling: LEE CRONIN’S THE MUMMY.

    >The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace— eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.

It’s a shame that this will probably suffer from the comparisons to the Brendan Fraser Mummy series with it sharing the same name, because I’m liking how creepy this looks

From what I’ve heard, this film is going to be pretty gnarly. Balls to the wall gore, which is not what many would expect from a Mummy movie.

    This looks fucking amazing.

It looks like there’s another kid possessed in the film. I wonder if its cause of Katie.

  5. Definitely looks like another Evil Dead movie from Lee, which is a great thing.

Seems weird that these people just bring this freaky mummy home to hang out in the house with their other kids though.

Didn’t this movie have really bad screening reviews? Or was that all made up? Or maybe I’m hallucinating 😆

  7. Looks like an Evil Dead-flavored Pet Sematary almost?

Looks much better than the recent PS though.

I was looking forward to this and it does look properly freaky…but I’m going to have to suspend a lot of belief if I’m expected to swallow the notion that this girl was just sent home to live with her parents and small siblings by the doctors.

We’ll see but so far the best Mummy movie remains the trailer for the Tom Cruise one that was accidentally uploaded without the sound effects and score in their proper place. Some entire movies don’t even encompass as many emotions, or as many genres, as this one trailer:

Looks great but also like don’t bring evil mummy creature into your home on a wheelchair? What is this Horror 101 here?

This cliché fest lost all my interest. I thought it’d be something interesting, but nah, another generic horror movie.

  12. Could be good, if does more than just the usual “it’s not your daughter anymore” tropes.

Man I think I would have been all about this if it came out before I had a daughter. Not sure I’m emotionally prepared for a kidnapped and undead little girl story

It had me until the “don’t worry grandma it’s fun to be dead” horse shit. That trope is so overplayed.

  15. Them taking their mummy daughter home to try and care for her just gave me vibes of then the Simpsons try to take care of fishhead-eating, “evil” twin Bart.

  16. This looks great, I wish they went for the rebrand and didn’t use “The Mummy” though. Big fan of Lee Cronin but people understandably are just going to compare it to the Brendan Fraser films. Hope it performs well regardless.

  17. I don’t know if Lee Cronin has earned having his name in the title but maybe it’s just to separate it from the Fraser movies since a Mummy 4 is around the corner.

I am excited for this, cause I’ve heard it’s super gory… but, it doesn’t really have a Mummy vibe to me…

(not even talking about the 1999 Mummy either)
